The Matrix Revolutions

Movie synopsis:

With Neo's mind trapped between the Matrix and the machine mainframe, Trinity, Morpheus and Seraph fight for the key to rescuing him, while Zion's military leaders prepare to defend their home against the all-out assault of the approaching machines. As Agent Smith continues to grow in power, Neo returns to learn from the Oracle that only by stopping Smith can he stop the war and save humanity. With standard entrances to Zion cut off, Morpheus assists Niobe in piloting the Hammer back to Zion, while Neo and Trinity navigate through defence systems on their way to the machine city, believing the end of their path lay there. With diggers and sentinels overrunning Zion, Morpheus and Niobe return as Neo faces Smith in a final, climactic battle that will decide the fate of mankind. Revolutions is the second half of a 4.5 hour movie; Reloaded is the first half.

The final installment of the Matrix Trilogy, Revolutions is the conclusion of an epic saga that spanned over three movies and countless blogs online. The one has to make a choice and that choice will decide the fate of two worlds.

Needless to say it is a must see as are the other two films and as such I have rated it accordingly.

Revolutions is the close to the trilogy, so inevitably it contains the most conflict. Overall, i have to give this points because of the CGI. The battle at Zion is done flawlessly, and is undoubtedly the movie's highlight. It just has the feel of helplessness, as you watch the machine's ruthlessly execute the humans... However, the Matrix always focused on this virtual world, of which there is comparitively little action in this movie. The only real scene is the final battle between Smith and Neo, which is really an overrated fight.

Its not a bad movie, its just so inferior to the first that i can only rate it harshly.

The conclusion to the trilogy, I have mixed feelings about this.

Firstly I didn't like how Neo's mind was separate to his body. It did kind of make sense given that he's some turbo special guy, but it just killed the plausibility.

I did, however, really enjoy the fight at Zion, that was very impressive.

The final fight, while pretty exciting, is a bit over rated in my opinion. I think the final fight from the original Matrix film is far better.

It does sum up the story well, and overall it is a good film to watch.

But for me, the original will always be the best.
