The oldest football club in Australia and possibly the world, Melbourne was formed barely months after the game was first established in 1858, they were then an original member of the competition in 1897 and have been one of the games most successful clubs with the proudest of traditions. Nicknamed the Demons and the longest tenant of the famous MCG, Melbourne has played in 18 Grand Finals and won 12 premierships but it's been some time since their most recent, 1964. |
