Part of the games national expansion in 1987, Brisbane struggled through its early years and didn't first reach the finals until 1995, they then merged with Fitzroy in 1997 and it was only successful days ahead. In one of the most successful eras in the games history the Lions played in four successive Grand Finals between 2001-2004 and won a triple of flags between 2001-2003. Housed at the Gabba, Brisbane is now the heart and soul of AFL in Queensland and will be for many years to come. |
