I forgot to write about this before, but I tracked down the location of my old friend. He lives in a video store now:
I love how (at the time of this photo) it has Orbit's out of order sign on it. It's as if the guy went 'Oh here, have the sign to go with the game, because it doesn't work properly, OK cya!'.
The game itself does actually work fine, the coin mechanism was faulty though. It's probably fixed now.
It's pretty sad that there will probably never be another arcade quite like Orbit. Playing ITG after UNI, and playing Metal Slug, Time Crisis and more Metal Slug with Gareth on Friday/Saturday nights are two things I miss very much. Timezone just can't match it.
Sigh.
